Fall 2016 Tiger Clubs

The Union Township School PTA (UTS PTA) is excited to offer after-school clubs again this fall! 
Register by September 16th!
Tiger Clubs will: 
  • mostly meet once a week for 6 weeks, unless otherwise noted.
  • meet from 3:30 to 4:45pm, unless otherwise noted; pick-up will be in the front vestibule at the school.
  • NOT meet on school vacation days or half days.

For further information about each club and pricing, please see club descriptions below. Payments are made by PayPal or personal check made out to UTS PTA. 


Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis, so please register ASAP.

Register for Fall Tiger Clubs!

The Fall 2016 club selection and club descriptions are as follows: 

THIS CLUB IS FULL! --> Broadway Kids
Join the cast! For six weeks, Ms. Jen Gursky, the owner of Encore Music Studio in Clinton, will teach students in the club the art of musical theatre performance, with hands-on training in voice, acting, and dance. Musical selections will be specially chosen to bring out the talents of our students as they create, rehearse, and mount a Broadway-style showcase to be performed for family, friends, and the community on the last class. This program includes costumes for the performance. 
Club Days: Mondays, 9/26, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 11/7, 11/14 (no club on 10/31, Halloween) 
Price: $70
Registration opened to: 1st – 4th Grade 
Minimum club members: 7 / Maximum: 12


Amazing Athletes
Amazing Athletes is a non-competitive, sport-based fitness program designed to keep your children active and having fun at the same time! Amazing Athletes covers the basic fundamentals of 9 different sports (2 per week). They incorporate fitness into these sports through interactive lessons that keep your kids moving and having fun. Following a structured curriculum, Gary Carmona, the owner and head coach of Amazing Athletes of Lehigh Valley will help students master 7 key areas of motor development and will incorporate movements designed to advance a child's hand-eye coordination, gross and fine motor skills, cardiovascular endurance, muscle tone, speed, agility, and more!
Club Days: Mondays, 9/26, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 11/7, 11/14 (no club on 10/31, Halloween)

Crafty Girls
Calling all Crafty Girls! One of the favorite PTA-run clubs is back this fall. Each week, Mrs. Michelle Teipel and a hand-full of volunteers will help students channel their creativity in projects with different themes such as: Cupcake Boss, Bring on the Bling Jewelry making, Spa Day, Groom your Room DIY Decor, Tiger Spirit and Hair Accessories, and Me & My Doll.
Club Days: Tuesdays, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8, 11/22 (no club on 11/15 due to 1 pm dismissal)
Price: $40

Minimum club members: 6 / Maximum: 12


Spanish Club
¡Vamos a aprender español! Let’s learn Spanish! Mrs. Luisa Andrade-Ohlarik, a native Spanish speaker, will provide the students with the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of Spanish through fun, stress-free activities, such as songs, short stories, nursery rhymes and games. Each week, the students will explore different topics through learning new words, focusing on pronunciation and mainly having fun learning another language.
Club Days: Tuesdays, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8

Pilates for Kids
Christina Naili, a DualStar™ Pilates Institute certified Pilates instructor, will lead Pilates for Kids club on Thursdays. Pilates exercises are known to strengthen core muscles, maintain a healthy and flexible spine, while also strengthening and lengthening muscles throughout the body. This is achieved through the six principles of Pilates which are concentration, control, centering, flow, precision, and breathing. Practicing Pilates is a great way for kids to use their minds to control their bodies, while learning to use their breath and strengthen all their muscle groups.
Club Days: Thursdays, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/17

THIS CLUB IS FULL! --> Technology and Engineering Club 
This program, led by SmartyCat Kids instructors, is all about having fun tinkering with technology and designing and constructing engineering projects. Each week, the students will rotate between engineering challenges and technology lessons. They will work on a wide range of projects that include everything from constructing structures and machines from scrap materials, to creating circuit boards, or programming robots (difficulty level adapted by age group). Hands-on, inquiry based club filled with team challenges and all around fun!
Club Days: Thursdays, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/17

THIS CLUB IS FULL! --> Holiday Gifts Making
Christmas and the holidays are the season of giving and will be upon us before we know it. This fall, Mrs. Christine Rehman will help students prepare for the holiday and create memorable gifts for family members, one gift per session. The children will bring all gifts home with them on the final day of the club.
Club Days: Fridays, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4
