UTS PTA Cookbook
Organized by: Robin Patton

The PTA is happy to kick off the 2014 / 2015 school year with our first fund raiser of the year – our very first cookbook featuring great recipes from all of our wonderful cooks!

The deadline for recipe submission is October 15, 2014 with our goal of getting these to press and ready for sale in time for the holiday season.  We want to have all families represented so please enter your recipes today!

We are so excited to be doing this!  Here’s what you need to do to:

Log in to: www.typensave.com (click this link to start)
Username: utscooks
Password: recipes
Enter your name and click ‘Continue’
Click on ‘Add Recipes” and that’s it!  Follow the prompts on the screen to enter your recipe.

After you login, you can view the recipes that have already been submitted.  Please note that the cookbook committee reserves the right to omit any duplicate recipes and you will be contacted for an opportunity to submit a replacement recipe.

You can submit up to as many as you would like of your recipes.  It is super easy to do via www.typensave.com.

Please follow these helpful hints when entering your recipe:

1) List ingredients in the order used and make sure all ingredients are included in the instructions.
2) Include all amounts and container sizes.  For example, 2 (8-oz.) cans, 1 (14oz.) pkg.  Use parantheses to separate amounts.

3) Don’t forget to spell check before you save your recipe to catch any typos!
4) Abbreviate measurements in the ingredients list.  When you are writing your recipe, please follow the standard abbreviations listed in the yellow “Tips” box.
5) Use ingredient names in the instructions.  That is, use “Combine flour and sugar” rather than saying “Combine the first two ingredients.”
6) Include temperatures and all cooking, chilling, baking or freezing times. Use the carat symbol (^) for degrees.
7) Make sure ingredients and instructions are clear, thorough and accurate.  For example, don’t assume the reader knows how to make yeast bread.
8) Submit recipes exactly as you want them to appear.
9) Write recipes in 1 paragraph.  Do not submit recipes in steps, columns, charts or as an entire paragraph.  Recipes which cannot confirm to our format will be omitted.

Please contact Robin Patton (rlpatton@yahoo.com) with any questions!

Thank you!
